Historic Celebration at Nazareth University

Nazareth University’s recent Commencement ceremony marked an historic and deeply meaningful day for both the Sisters of Saint Joseph and Nazareth University. During the ceremony, Sister Mary Lou Mitchell, Congregational President, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on behalf of the Congregation, recognizing the enduring legacy, mission, and service of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

In addition to receiving the honorary degree, Sister Mary Lou delivered the Commencement address, offering graduates words of hope, faith, and encouragement rooted in the Congregation’s charism and commitment to unity, reconciliation, and service. Sister Donna Del Santo, Campus Minister for Nazareth’s Discernment and Vocation in Center for Spirituality, offered the Invocation, helping to frame the celebration in prayer and gratitude. Sister Susan Nowak, Professor of Catholic Studies at Nazareth, was also part of the graduation ceremony.
