Welcoming the Holy
Here we invite you to take time for yourself in personal prayer. The following spiritual reflection offers words and images which we hope will evoke for you an experience of God.

“Be still...and know that I am God.” Psalm 46
Opening Prayer
Lent is time to reconsider our relationship with God and those in need around the world. It is a time when we deepen our awareness of: “In humility, we accept that we are God’s Beloved and we live our lives in that Love.” (M. Williams)
March is also the month of St. Joseph. He is protector and model of this Great Love of God!
Reading
Is. 53 adapted
Who could believe what we have heard,
and to whom has the power of God been revealed?
Like a sapling this One grew up in front of us,
like a root in arid ground.
Without beauty, without majesty,
no looks to attract our eyes;
a thing despised and rejected,
full of sorrow and familiar with suffering,
toward this One, people screened their faces;
despised and we took no account.
Ours were the sufferings borne,
ours the sorrows carried.
But we, we thought this one as someone punished,
struck by God and brought low,
crushed for our sins.
On this One lies a punishment that brings us peace,
and through those wounds we are healed.
Reflection
Is. 53 reminds us to keep before our eyes the suffering in our world. In our midst, is Divine Indwelling. How are you being invited to respond?
What in your life brings you to the deepening awareness that everyone is God’s Beloved?
How is God inviting you to share this Love this Lenten Season?
Closing Prayer
Gracious God, enfold us in the Arms of Love and fill us with Your Holy Spirit. AMEN
Reminder
