Sister Nancy Clark (formerly Sister Edwin)

“How fast 60 years goes by! My joy has been working with young children the entire time. There is such delight in watching them first learn the alphabet and then seeing how pleased they are with themselves when they can read on their own. My years in education brought me to schools in Greece, Brockport, Geneva, Penn Yan and Horseheads.

“During these years I felt a call to minister in our SSJ mission in Alabama. In 1985 I went south to begin what became a ministry of 29 years. Twenty-seven of those were spent living and ministering in a very rural, economically poor county.

“In Alabama I worked in the Edmundite Southern Missions, a group that ministers to the very economically disadvantaged. I ministered in three learning centers–Pine Apple, Vredenburgh and Selma–working with folks from six months of age to 84 years old. After many wonderful years in Alabama, I returned to Rochester where I currently volunteer at St. Pius Tenth Church.

“I am truly grateful for my Congregation and for the many wonderful people I have met throughout these years.”
