Sister Karen Marie Dietz

Sister Karen Marie Dietz became a Sister after having earned a Masters degree in Religious Education from Fordham University and working as a Director of Religious Education in Geneva. For much of her career, her ministry has been focused on parish life. She has served as Director of Religious Education at St. Stephen, Geneva; St. Anne/St. Gregory in Palmyra and Marion; St. Catherine in Mendon, and Holy Ghost in Gates. She has served in Coordinator of Sacramental Catechesis and Evangelization for the Diocese of Rochester and as Pastoral Administrator for the parishes of St. Agnes, Avon; St. Paul of the Cross, Honeoye Falls; and St. Rose, Lima. She also served one term as a member of the Leadership Team of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

Currently, Sister Karen is serving as a member of the Pastoral Care Team at St. Ann’s Community on a part-time basis. She is also assisting with liturgy and spirituality for the Motherhouse community and offering spiritual direction. Sister Karen’s greatest joy at this time in her religious life is walking with others as they journey toward God. “Whether it is through prayer, individual direction, sitting at the bedside of an elder or spending time with a family in need, God is present and active. I feel privileged to be with others at these most vulnerable times. We show one another the beautiful face of God.”
