Honoring Two Decades of Community Service

Bill Camp, Northside Coordinator, welcomes attendees to the celebratory Mass

On October 22, Sisters, friends, and community members gathered in heartfelt celebration of the 20th anniversary of St. Joseph Northside. A special Mass was held at Holy Apostles Church, presided over by Reverend Anthony Mugavero, to mark this milestone and honor the life and legacy of Northside’s founder, Sister Peg Brennan.

In 2005, Sister Peg opened Northside’s doors as a friendly place where neighbors could find a safe space for conversation, a cup of coffee, or simply a moment of respite from the harsh realities of life on the streets. Over the years, it has blossomed into a cornerstone of support for those who need it most.

The anniversary celebration not only honored Northside’s 20 years of community support but also reaffirmed the commitment to carry Sister Peg’s legacy forward—ensuring the ministry remains a beacon of hope for many more years to come.
