The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Rochester are excited to
announce a new chapter in the longstanding history of Nazareth Schools.
Beginning fall 2017, Nazareth Elementary School will continue its educational
program just a few blocks down the street at the former Sacred Heart Cathedral School.
The school’s pre K through 6 program will move to the new
location this summer. Sister Margaret Mancuso will continue as principal and
the school will be fully operational in its new space, starting in September
for the 2017-18 school year.
In 2015 the Sisters of Saint Joseph sold the Lake Avenue Campus which, in addition to the
elementary school, once housed Nazareth Academy, the Nazareth Convent and two
other convents on the property, to the Education Success Network. Since that time, the Sisters have been leasing the space for the
elementary school.
Though Nazareth’s address is changing, please be assured
that our staff, our mission, and our programs will remain as strong as ever. For
over 145 years the Nazareth Schools have set themselves apart with a unique and
spirit filled curriculum. This exceptional academic and faith based education
will continue at our new location, providing the Rochester community with a
nurturing educational environment that embraces children and families of all
faiths and ethnicities.
