St. Martin's Place Expanding its Ministry

St. Martin's Place, an SSJ sponsored ministry located in the city of Rochester, is expanding its ministry. Starting September 21 the ministry will provide household items to its guests. St. Martins provides hot meals to men women and families who have fallen on tough times. The ministry also offers job training for adults and operates a youth gospel choir for children of it guests.
A recent survey of its guest was the impetus for the expanded offerings. "We knew there were needs that we weren't meeting but we wanted our guests to tell us what those needs were," says co director Joanne Corcimiglia. "We received over 50 responses that were really inspiring. People were very thankful for what we do. They also indicated a need for household items as well as things like t shirts because it is often difficult for people to wash clothes."
The items that St. Martin’s Household ministry will provide are:
Bed Linens & Blankets
Bath Towels & Wash Cloths
Dishes & Glasses
Eating Utensils
Dish Towels
Pots & Pans
Cooking Utensils
Can Openers
Small Appliances
St. Martin’s will also be collecting gently used duffle bags, t shirts and new socks.
If you would like to donate items, collections will begin on September 12. St. Martin's Place is located at 55 Ontario Street in Rochester. For additional drop off details, you may call St. Martins at (585) 325-6500
