Sisters Say Thank You to Volunteers

The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Rochester have almost 100 volunteers who further the mission of helping the “dear neighbor.” The Congregation could not do all that it does  do without the time and talents of these giving people. From spending time with the Sisters and Priests at the Motherhouse, taking them to appointments, running errands, to helping out at the various ministries, SSJ volunteers are a gift to to the Congregation!

To honor that relationship, the Sisters hosted a “Reflection Time for Volunteers” gathering on Wednesday, January 25, at the SSJ Motherhouse. The volunteers were treated to a morning of spiritual reflection led by Sisters Mary Anne Laurer and Elizabeth Snyder at the Motherhouse Chapel. Volunteers learned about the Sisters of Saint. Joseph “Charism” and “Mission" of the SSJS as well as the interconnectedness of life through a reading of the Gospel from St. John. Then there was quiet time to relax, pray and reflect. The morning was capped off with time to visit and coffee and sweet breads. The event was so well received; that the Sisters and volunteers are looking forward to making this an annual event.  To see photos from the volunteer event, please click here for a link to a photo album on the SSJ Facebook page
