Treasures Sale a Sell Out

August 2, 2010...The Nazareth Academy "Treasures" Sale on Saturday, July 31 was a sell out! Everything was sold from tables and chairs, to desks and file cabinets, and furniture and decorations. The proceeds from the sale go to the move of Nazareth Hall Elementary School to the Lake Avenue campus (Former Nazareth Academy Building).

SSJ Tournament of Care

July 12, 2010...Once again the July 12 Golf tournament was a resounding success! We extend a heartfelt thanks to all our sisters who served as committee members,program designers, program folders, marshals, tournament day and works, and all 124 golfers who brought their A-game! Thanks to you, proceeds will benefit The SSJ ministry fund.

The Aquinas Institute and The Nazareth Schools Form Partnership to Bolster Catholic Education in Rochester

February 3, 2010...Opening a new chapter for Catholic Education in Rochester, The Aquinas Institute and The Nazareth Schools are partnering to create a co-educational Catholic school system that seamlessly serves grades Pre-K through 12. The new school system will be called Aquinas Institute and Nazareth Schools. Beginning in September 2010, Pre-K through grade 6 will be located at the Nazareth Academy campus on Lake Avenue. Grades 7 through 12 will be welcomed at the Aquinas Institute campus on Dewey Avenue. For complete details here's a link to the Nazareth School's website link to Nazareth Schools site



The Pope Takes a Look at U.S. Congregations

November 2009...Phase one of the Apostolic Visitation of U.S. Women's Congregations has been completed. Representatives from the Vatican are visiting congregations of women religious across the country. Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Mother Mary Clare Millea as the official visitor. Sister Mary Louise Mitchell, SSJ Congregational President, met with Mother Mary Clare Millea earlier this year. Mother Clare told Sister Mary Louise during their visit that she was impressed with all the good that is being done by the SSJs of Rochester. The Congregation has sent a packet of more detailed information to the Vatican. After all of the packets have been reviewed, a decision will be made about which U.S. congregations will receive a formal visit.
